Generation Zero

This is a recent game and at first does not appear to be anything special. However, the AI robots that are out to kill you instead of ask questions are frustrating… they never stand still. This is a rare game mechanic as most AI in modern games will ‘obviously’ stand in the open to be shot or at least keep sticking their head out making it all too easy sometimes. This is becoming a little dull in games today so well done Avalanche Studios for going against the norm.

The setting is Sweden and a very realistic representation of the modern world.

The game play is very smooth as you wander a large landscape looking for the people… always looking in a new location… but never there so moving on to the next. I can see some will find that gamplay teadious but the gun fights with the robots make up for it.

It is multiplayer as well so a team can go in against the AI.

Night time. Again it is rare that a game is this dark.

Long time gamer (Doom 1993 and Myst 1993 among the first PC games) I have never lost the interest or the desire to explore landscapes (Skyrim, Dying Light) and craft (Minecraft, No Man's Sky) my way through worlds of different kinds. Even build homes in these landscapes (Fallout 4, No Man's Sky). In recent years games and consoles have allowed players to take photos and video of their game play. This has allowed me to use these in game/console tricks to take photos of bizarre and strange new landscapes and share the wonderful with the world. Kind regards... AI
