All Hallow’s Eve…

With Halloween coming up and the scary season begins, it is time to play games that will grip your throat and give you frights and tough fights. The images here are from older games and you are likely to purchase them at low cost or if you are signed up for Xbox Game Pass, free… ish.

Metro: Exodus is a game (as are all in the Metro series) of tough and frightening situations. Long tunnels, howls and most of the time, darkness. A good game to load up and run through even if you have already completed it. The Metro games have multiple endings based on your game play and choices.

Vampyr has been released on the Xbox Game Pass, so if you have that there are no excuses for not running through this game of vampiric blood… not for the squeamish.

I have just started playing this game at time of writing, but I am already being drawn in… mesmerized.

The Evil Within is one of the most terrifying games (and frustrating) I have ever played on Xbox. It is steeped in mind twists, broken undead (that just keep getting up unless you put a match to them) and the hardest boss fights. It is confusing at first but, it does make sense as you play through… sort of.

Though a difficult game to play the story and atmosphere make you want to turn that corner… or is it the game playing with your mind… hmmm… !

Other titles to have a look at, all available with Xbox Game Pass at time of writing:
State Of Decay 2
Alien: Isolation
World War Z
Blair Witch

Long time gamer (Doom 1993 and Myst 1993 among the first PC games) I have never lost the interest or the desire to explore landscapes (Skyrim, Dying Light) and craft (Minecraft, No Man's Sky) my way through worlds of different kinds. Even build homes in these landscapes (Fallout 4, No Man's Sky). In recent years games and consoles have allowed players to take photos and video of their game play. This has allowed me to use these in game/console tricks to take photos of bizarre and strange new landscapes and share the wonderful with the world. Kind regards... AI
